Make a day trip into the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho via the world-renowned Sani Pass.

If you have an extra day, why not make the trip from Sani Pass through Lesotho and spend a night in or near the Golden Gate National Park. There you can enjoy the sights of one of SA’s best-kept secrets – the Eastern Free State – before returning to the Midlands.

The dramatic Drakensberg was one of the last refuges of the Bushmen (or San) People who left us a rich legacy in the form of their Rock Art.

Hike to the Main Cave at Giant’s Castle, Game Pass Shelter in the Kamberg or visit the Interpretative Centre at Didema

CHAMPAGNE VALLEY

During a full day tour, enjoy the raptor/falconry display against the backdrop of the Drakensberg only a short distance away. Then, after a leisurely lunch at one of a number of country restaurants, perhaps a concert given by the Drakensberg Boys Choir (Wednesday afternoons only, during school terms). For the energetic, the ‘Berg is a hiker’s paradise. There are many walks, guided and self-guided, from easy strolls to some quite testing terrain.
